- [Narrator] Protecting privacy depends upon the behavior of individuals. An intentional or accidental misstep by a single employee can undermine many privacy controls, exposing an organization to unacceptable levels of risk. Privacy education programs help protect organizations against these risks. Privacy education programs have two important components. Privacy training provides users with the detailed information that they need to protect PII. Training may use a variety of delivery techniques, but the bottom line goal is to impart knowledge. Privacy training takes time and attention from students. Privacy awareness is meant to remind employees about the privacy lessons they've already learned. Unlike privacy training, awareness doesn't require a commitment of time to sit down and learn new material.
