- [Instructor] In almost any enterprise realignment project, you end up with a conflict that exists between the idea of investing in the existing environment, versus just completely ripping everything out and just giving a fresh clean, start all over again. Now it's imperative that you take a complete accounting of skills, technologies, facilities, service agreements, licensing contracts, and any other existing strategic plans to identify elements that can be used in the new architecture. So let's talk about some of the planning that goes into consolidation. First, we have this thing called the 80/20 rule. Now you may or may not have heard of the 80/20 rule. And what does it basically mean? It basically means that 80% of consequences come from 20% of possible causes.
