Moral, legal, and ethical systems

- So there are four elements to the framework of a well governed data system. One, is the processing moral? Two, is the processing ethical? Three, is that processing legal? And four, is that processing fair from cradle to grave? Is a system moral? In the past, I've seen systems where there's been an idea, it wasn't executed, thank goodness. To chip prisoners and have a permanent record of every bad thing that they've ever done, based on the implanted chip under their skin, whether they wanted it or not. To me that felt like a very huge moral disrupter, isn't even a strong enough word. But there are certain codes of morality, I think that we can agree on, even cross-culturally. So it has to be moral. That doesn't like a high bar but you do have these conversations from time to time. Now ethics, and I apologize to all my PhD ethicists out there.
