- [Instructor] When it comes to managing our data storage in our IT architecture, we kind of break this down into figuring out what our storage requirements are, what the different data categories are that we have in our environment. We may want to establish storage policies so that we know how the data can be accessed and used. And then of course we have to make sure to keep the data safe. So we have to focus on data protection. As far as figuring out our storage requirements, as far as how much storage, where that storage needs to be, this first step would be to do a storage survey. And this is really nothing more than doing kind of like an audit or an inventory of all the data that we have in our network. But that only tells us part of the story that just tells you what you have. It's important that you also interview the people who will be using this data so that you can really get a grasp on how the data's used,…
