The concept of machine learning, or ML, is applicable to just about any aspect of our businesses that relies or cloud rely on data in some way. So customer insights and consumer analytics fit in and you'll want to have a strong plan on how to use ML and artificial intelligence to your full advantage. A large organization that I provide consulting for describes ML this way: machine learning is a way of programming an algorithm to predict or act in a way we want, without providing rules that the algorithm should follow. Instead we provide data and desired response and we leave it to a computer to learn these rules by itself from provided examples. So that's a good foundation to have in terms of an applied definition of ML as we consider use cases for your customer insights program.
