- As you expand your network, you're going to need some way to keep track of all the data science execs and authors and thought leaders with whom you spoke or sent an email or had coffee with as well as the one who didn't respond to your email or return your call. While many people are comfortable with paper-based calendars and address books, I strongly encourage you to investigate a digital solution that's portable and cloud-based as well as device and operating system agnostic. There are many of these CRM or customer relationship management tools, basically they provide you with an address book on steroids. These tools are historically designed to help sales people but are easily adapted for general networking. You can use a CRM to manage how often you reach for the various contacts in your mesh.
