- [Instructor] So how is Edge Computing related to cloud computing and IoT in general? Keep in mind that ultimately this is about balancing processing at the IoT device with the centralized server. Typically existing in a cloud-based platform. So the reason we move some processes to the Edge or within the IoT device is that ultimately it may be more effective and faster. Either from a cost efficient basis or just from an overall efficiency basis. To keep the information stored on the device such as within a jet plane, as to the ability to react to some sort of an engine issue and so while it's good to transmit that information back to some sort of a centralized sever so we can trend that information over time. Obviously it's going to require that people on board and computers on board take note of that issue and repair it as soon as possible. So this is about moving data and processing much closer to the source than if we sent everything to some sort of a central computer. So it's…
