- [Narrator] While the exact numbers of websites keeps changing second by second. There are over a billion websites on the internet. Because of the volume of websites and the constantly changing content. Search engines like Google use automated programs called Crawlers or Spiders to view the new websites and track changes to existing ones. Each search engine uses it's own search algorithm to return results when you type in a query. While the search algorithms change regularly, being Bing tends to focus on keywords. Anchor texts or links. And title tags. But it's been known to miss out on the context in which users search for keywords. Google on the other hand is better at identifying natural word patterns by showing results based on proximity of keywords to each other.
