- Hey, everybody, it's Mike Myers welcoming you to Cert Prep Three. This is Core Hardware. This is the third of 10 different courses that collectively will help you pass the CompTIA A+ Core 1 220-1001 exam. Now, when I say core hardware, we're talkin' about the main pieces that actually make your CPU run. So we're going to be talking about firmware, better known as BIOS, or UEFI, and some of the fun things we can do with that. Then we're going to be getting into motherboards. We're going to look at different form factors and chipsets, and we're going to be installing them and making a mess, and having a blast while we're doing it. And last will be power supplies. And we're going to go in. Not only are we going to install power supplies, but understand basic electrical circuitry so that as techs we know that we're having the right kind of power to make our CPUs run. As always, we're going to be tracking along with my McGraw Hill A+ book. We're going to be covering chapters five, six, and seven.
