Installing Linux
- [Jason] In this lesson I want to show you how you can install a version of Linux on your own machine. Now in my case I'm going to be using a Mac OSX Desktop but you can use a Windows machine or a Linux machine if you already have one. Now we're going to use Ubuntu so I'm going to go to Google Chrome and I'm going to go to Ubuntu.com now once we get to Ubuntu.com we want to go over to the downloads section, and underneath downloads we're going to choose which version we want to download. Now, for my example here I'm going to go ahead and use the 18.04 LTS version which stands for long-term support version. And we'll just click on that, and it's going to go ahead and start downloading for you, and this is a almost two gigabyte file so it will take a little bit of time if you have a slower internet connection and the type of file it's going to download is known as an ISO file and what that is, is a disc image for a CD or DVD.…
