- Windows Server 2019 has a built in back up program called Windows Server Backup and you can install it by going to add roles and features option. And when you get to features, just make sure that the Windows Server Backup box is checked as I'll show you in just a second. So we'll scroll down and we'll make sure that Windows Server Backup is installed. So if that box it not checked, go ahead and check it, click next, and install. Once it's installed we'll see the option to be able to open up from tools Windows Server Backup and we'll see that it's ready to back up. Now in this case we want to make sure that we're optimized for data deduplication. So let's minimize Windows Server Backup. We'll come back to that in just one second. Let's click on file and storage services and then volumes. We want to set up our D drive to optimize for data deduplication. We're right clicking and choosing configure data deduplication.
