How is managing outsourced work different from managing staff?
- [Instructor] In this video, we'll see how managing outsourced work is different than managing staff. But first, we need to define a key term, MSSP. It means managed security service provider. You can outsource many security functions to an MSSP, such as intrusion detection system monitoring, 24 by seven security operations center, and vulnerability testing. When you work with an MSSP, there are two common types of business arrangements, outsourcing, where the work happens at the MSSP offices, using their equipment, and co-sourcing, a combination of outsourcing and insourcing that lets the MSSP use your equipment installed in your building. A newer type of co-sourcing is called Security as a Service. This is when a service provider integrates their equipment into your infrastructure and charges you a monthly or annual subscription.
