- I've used the Antenna technique several times to transition from one career to another over the course of my nonlinear, multimodal path. But I want to share a story with you of how I went from the jingle biz to the web biz using this approach. So I was in the studio writing music for television and a team came in and said, "We need a Duran Duran jingle for Clairol." And I had just written a Duran Duran jingle for Dove Soap the week before, so I was like, "There must be something more interesting I can do "than paint by numbers, writing television commercials." So this wacky new technology was appearing, called the internet, the World Wide Web. I thought, "Well that's a place "where I can use my triggers, my skills and interests," which were at the time, say, creativity around music and technology, in a new setting to continue to make a living and do something interesting.
