- [Instructor] Often, we're entrusted with information that needs safeguarding. Whether that's information we use on the job, personal information we're given by a friend or family member, or any other kind of information that isn't public, it's important to respect the safety and privacy of that information. And while we should already be safeguarding our own information and information we have access to, it's worth making the effort to thinking about and actively protect information that isn't ours to share. At work, many people need to deal with protected information of some kind. Often, this is stored in a secured system we access through a web interface or other application. But some jobs require people to work on sensitive files stored on their computer instead. If you work with sensitive files on your computer, make sure your computer's hard drive is encrypted or that the information is stored in an encrypted container.
