- [Instructor] Many wifi routers offer the ability to create a guest network, a network that's different than the primary wifi network. It's intended for use by visitors or the public. This can be desirable for a few reasons. Guest networks are often configured to not require a password, which is convenient, especially in places like restaurants and other businesses, where many people pass through and appreciate casual access to wifi. Though they can be configured to require a password as well. A guest network is generally configured to keep traffic passing through it, isolated from other devices on the larger network. Depending on the hardware you have, this might just be an on or off kind of feature, or it could be configurable to allow certain devices like printers to be accessed by clients of the guest network.
