- [Instructor] While many consider governance as being an afterthought, when you're looking at your cloud computing requirements it should be first and foremost and systemic to most of what you do. So, understanding the patterns of governance, we have several categories to choose from. Service-based, or the ability to deal with behaviors, such as APIs and services and the ability to put guardrails, or policies, around using those services. The ability to deal with complete resources, such as storage and compute, and then also the ability to deal with rules and regulations, such as compliance, such as making sure that we're not going to do something that's going to violate the law. In essence, protecting us from us. This is not about stopping deviant behavior that's going to run afoul of government regulations, this is about making mistakes that may run into compliance issues.
