Technology is helping us discover language in ways that help us better understand people and how these people and their use of language are changing over time. How you ask? Well the words we use are being captured by technology. Whether it's via text, tweets, Instagram responses, books, even movie scripts and song lyrics. All of this words data is being studied. So what has some of the data told us about the evolution of language in the last 10 to 15 years? Well in the 2014 book, Dataclysm, author Christian Rudder found that there are signs that perhaps texting and tweeting aren't destroying the English language as much as some might think.
