Disabling the backstage

- [Instructor] A few versions back, Microsoft Office added the Backstage. It can be found on the File tab. And you'll see it most often when you use the Open or Save As commands with a document. These items now appear as the default for the Open and Save As commands. So if you press Control + S to save a document, and it doesn't have to be here in Word, it could be in Excel or PowerPoint, you will see the Backstage Save As screen. Likewise, when you press Control + O to open a document, you see the Backstage Open screen. Now, many people, especially long-time Excel and Word users, would rather use the traditional dialog boxes. You can still access these tools by clicking the Browse option on the Backstage, but that's an extra step. Two options are available to users who would prefer not to use the Backstage.
