- Organizational resistance is the most common reason that models fail to be deployed. As data scientists, we aren't in the math business, we're in the business of organizational change. Making database decisions seems like an inherent good that everyone would be on board with, but to some degree, that means that an existing method for making decisions is being modified or even displaced. It is critical to be seen as a trusted advisor, seeking the truth. If we are seen as representing a particular constituency within the organization, our analysis and our models won't be trusted.
