- [Instructor] As companies turn to telecommuting and other remote work arrangements, the demand increases for technologies that allow remote users to easily interact with enterprise systems from their homes and other locations. Virtual desktop infrastructure, or VDI solutions, take the power of virtualization and apply it to desktop technology. Users can use any system of their choice to access a desktop environment that's running on a remote server. This might be a VDI solution running in the company's own data center, or a cloud-based VDI product, such as Amazon WorkSpaces. Let's take a look at how Amazon WorkSpaces functions. I'm here at the desktop on my Mac and it has the Amazon WorkSpaces software client installed. Let's start it up. As Amazon WorkSpaces loads, it asks me for credentials.
