- [Instructor] Security is a key part of development and deployment in the cloud and the operation of cloud services. This is often carried out in what's known as a DevOps approach. Automated deployment tends to be prominent in cloud environments and often includes security activities such as automated security testing. However, this is carried out with no direct developer control and tests need to be properly adapted for automation. The continuous integration continuous deployment pipeline might impose a manual gate to verify that development activities, such as code reviews, have been carried out. The pipeline can be designed to notify security if there are any modifications to specific portions of code that might require manual approval, including changes in sensitive areas of code, such as security modules.
