Database abstraction

- So let's talk about database abstraction and on premises systems. So ultimately they allow us to mix traditional databases such as DB2 and Oracle with cloud-based databases such as Amazon's DynamoDB, which is cloud only. Native to that particular cloud. And we're doing so without adding complexity. So in essence in what we're doing is creating a virtualization layer that exists between the on premises databases, the cloud-based databases, and allow us to look at those databases using a single pane of glass, a single schmema. So if this is done right we're going to have the ability to find any information point that we need at any time for any reason regardless of where it exists. And we're not necessarily focused on the physical native capabilities and so we're abstracting ourselves away from the physical native database systems.
