We've discussed primordial pools in previous videos, let's take a look at how we can create a parity drive. But let's do it through Computer Management. Let's go ahead and show this alternative way by going to Server Manager, going to Tools, and Computer Management. This can accomplish the same thing as going into the primordial disk, and creating a storage pool. But we can do it through the Computer Management Utility. So click on Storage, Disk Management, and from here we will click on our three drives that we're going to use to create our parity. So here's the three 5 gigabyte drives, they have to all be the same size, and we need at least three of them. And that's because if one of the drives fails, then the other two will continue using the parity information, which is basically a ninth bit using math to rebuild the data.
