- So how is DevOps changing the way we consider how we're going to build and deploy applications? Well, we have an old way and a new way again. And the old way is that the software basically is built and shipped. And we remember this from the CD-rom days when everything had a version number and everything had to come on a DVD, CD-rom, or old school tapes. Ultimately, we're building features until they're done. So, in other words, we have a beginning and a middle and an end when we do development. We put a version number on that, and we release it to the users. The new way, we're leveraging services, not necessarily software. So they're consistently managed.
