- [Instructor] So now, let's address compute abstraction with on premises systems. So ultimately this is, again, the ability to mix traditional systems with systems that are cloud-based and the ability to abstract information or data or storage systems and this time we're abstracting the processing systems or the CPUs. So keep in mind that there are typically no platform lookalikes on public cloud based systems that are going to take the place of some of the on-premise systems. So we have system such as mainframes that have been running our enterprise applications for years and there's really no substitute for them we're going to find in the public cloud so this is going to be an important step. So ultimately, this is very much similar to the storage abstraction patterns but processing is typically more complex. How we do compute systems is very different from platform to platform.
