- Hey everybody, it's Mike Meyers, welcoming you to Cert Prep 9: Portable Computing. This is the ninth of 10 courses, which, collectively, will help you pass the CompTIA A+ Core 1 (220-1001) exam. Now, when I say portable computing, I mean portable. So pretty much any kind of device, from smartphones to laptops that you can carry around, we're going to cover it in this course. So let's start off with portable computing. Now, CompTIA really gets into laptops. You're expected to understand how to dismantle a laptop and perform basic repairs, and we're going to be doing it in this course. Moving from laptops, we're going to get into the world of smartphones and tablets, making sure you understand, really, what is the difference between, say, iOS and Android operating system? Then we're going to get into the care and feeding, making sure you know how to properly maintain and troubleshoot your mobile devices so they keep working in good order. Now, if you're following along with my popular McGraw Hill A+ book, you're going to want to watch chapters 23, 24, and 25.
