- [Instructor] So now let's talk a little bit about communication methods that are available in today's world. First, let's break down the two different classes of communication. We have asynchronous communication, which is where it's not really real time. A message is sent from one user to another and the other user gets it when it's convenient for them at a later time. And then we have synchronous communication, which is more real time where we're truly interacting live with one another. So we'll see some examples of that as we go through here. Let's talk about messaging options. We want to send messages. Well, we have chat, which would typically be an example of synchronous communication where we're actually in a chat window and we can actually see each other communicating directly back and forth.
