It is a cloud-based centralized management controller that specializes in WAN architecture for enterprises. Compared to other Cisco remote site management system, SD-WAN powered by Viptela is very focused on using software enhancements for WAN management and optimization. It uses a centralized portal to manage branch and remote sites, as well as allow multiple connections to minimize downtime. It supports using traditional internet options such as MPLS and broadband, as well as the newer wireless 4G LTE connections.
