CISO expectations in government

- Government CISOs expect to see some sort of security breach within the next 12 months. That pessimism is only exceeded by retailers. 60% of all chief information officers surveyed have five years of experience or less. This seems to indicate quite a large churn across the vertical. This fact may also expose a vulnerability in their knowledge of cloud specific threats. Government CISOs more often report to an IT security organization and rely on mentorship from others to learn about how to address their specific duties. Deployment model choice in government is mostly private with hybrid deployment models also in broad use. As replicated across many industries, organizations surveyed plan to mostly use software as a service.
