Two doctors at UC Berkeley have invented a device the size of a grain of sand that they call neural dust. It can be implanted to not only monitor the body's electrical activity but also generate ultrasound to stimulate healing. Scientists are developing nano robots that are attracted to disease cells allowing direct treatment. Companies are starting to use antibodies attached to carbon nano tubes in chips to detect cancer cells in the bloodstream.
