Building an edge computing solution

- [Instructor] So let's talk about building edge computing solutions. So, here's the big picture. We have at the top, the cloud, basically providing centralized processing, heavyweight processing, almost unlimited number of resources. In the middle we have the edge servers and those are typically called also edge nodes, and they provide an intermediate processing layer. They're typically legitimate, full-powered servers, but physical servers that exist between the cloud and the device and sensors. And at the bottom layer we have the edge devices and they typically communicate with the sensors, sometimes returning the information back to the edge server, sometimes returning the information directly back to the cloud. So we have a number of options here. First, we can, in essence, write applications that just go to an edge server. So we talked about micro clouds, such as Microsoft Azure Stack and Amazon Web Services…
