- [Instructor] So how do we build the IoT system connected to the cloud? Well, there's a few things to consider. First is the configuration of the device itself, or the system that's gathering information from the IoT sensors. So that device is typically going to have an operating system, such as Linux, it's going to have some sort of non-volatile storage, and it's going to have some sort of network connectivity. Sometimes Wi-Fi, sometimes Bluetooth, sometimes directly connected. So keep in mind that this is a computer system unto itself. This could have been a very powerful standalone computer system 10 years ago. However, it's low cost, low price, but very low power relative to the servers that we're going to find in the cloud today. However, it's going to do a very good job because it's purpose built for gathering information from wherever it needs to gather information from, such as this device could be embedded in the connected tractor.
