- [Instructor] Over my career, I've had to make adjustments to privacy programs under three circumstances. First, the program was deemed to be extremely successful and in the absence of bad news was deemed a luxury. The program's effectiveness quite ironically became an argument against its necessity. Second, the program was constantly reactive and we were always playing catch up rather than optimizing for future strategic improvements. It was like we were burning cash to stay warm rather than buying a furnace. Third, the program faced certain disruption because of major changes in the business or the economy as a whole. You will want to build a program that is adaptive if not immune to these changes. The following two correlations will help you drive prioritization for your privacy investments.
