- AWS actually has a robust alerting system. Here's the thing. When it comes to monitoring, you really have two basic choices. You can sit there and stare at your screen all day long, waiting for the thing to happen, or you can configure alerts to notify you if the thing happens. And have it save a log of all of the information, so you can go and roll back in time and take a look at anything that's important to you related to the thing that you're monitoring. That's obviously the better way to work, the latter option. So what we're going to look at is a service at AWS called CloudTrail. CloudTrail allows you to keep a trail of the things that happen in the cloud. Let's take a look at it. So in the AWS management console, just go down to your management and governance section and choose CloudTrail. And here in CloudTrail, you can already see some recent events that have happened.
