Learn about when containers are not a fit.
- [Narrator] So when do you use containers,…and when do you not use containers?…You know, that's kind of a core question…that I think many in IT are asking themselves right now…as containers become more relevant…and more important to development…and specifically as we move to the cloud.…So keep in mind there are more reasons…not to use containers than to use them…and that sounds like a very negative statement,…but consider the fact that there are more applications…out there and more workloads out there…that are not a good fit for containers…without a lot of rework, refactoring,…and in fact many of them have to be rewritten from scratch.…
That would not be a good use case for containers…because of the cost efficiency issues…and because the technical issues…in moving those sorts of applications to containers.…So keep that in mind that the majority…of workloads out there, even the net new applications…are not going to be a good fit.…So what's key is that you understand your macro…and micro requirements.…So that mean's understanding your application…
