Get an overview of the 2018 CISSP certification program, including the eight exam domains.
- Hi, I'm Mike Chapple, and I'd like to welcome you to our course on preparing for the CISSP exam. The Certified Information Systems Security Professional credential is widely considered the gold standard of certifications for cyber security experts. The International Information Systems Security Certification Consortium sponsors the CISSP credential. That name is a mouthful, so must people simply refer to them by their acronym, ISC Squared. This course serves as the introduction to a series of eight additional courses, each one focused on one of the eight domains of the CISSP exam.
As you work your way through each of these courses, you'll pick up all of the knowledge that you need to earn your CISSP certification. I've been an information security professional for over two decades in the government, private industry, and higher education. I hold both the Security Plus and CISSP certifications and have been active as a security certification expert for many years. Two of my books, The CISSP Official Study Guide and the CISSP Official Practice Tests, are best-selling guides that have helped thousands of students just like you earn their CISSP Certifications.
In this course, I'll provide you with the background knowledge that you need to begin your preparations for the CISSP Exam. We'll cover the value of the CISSP certification, describe the eight domains of the CISSP curriculum, give you an insider's view of the exam, and help you design your own study strategy. All right, let's get rolling.
