This course seeks to make key cybersecurity policies and resources clear and understandable—whether you work in IT, in business, or are just interested in how information security fits in with our public policies and laws.
- [Gregory] You're likely hearing more than ever these days about data breaches and cyber attacks. By one estimate the U.S. government alone will spend nearly 20 billion dollars this year securing its networks, and will spend a trillion dollars globally, between now and 2021 on cyber security, but it can be difficult to understand how this big picture fits together. In this course, I'm going to make it easier to understand just that. This course is designed to give you a good overview of the outside context in which information security exists.
I'm going to direct you to some resources to help make you better informed and hopefully more secure. I'm Gregory Michaelidis, and for more than a decade I've advised high level officials in government, in the private sector, and at nonprofits, on understanding and communicating about the kinds of information and security risks they face. I'm excited to share practical information that will help you understand the lay of the land in cyberspace, whether you're a business owner, manage a nonprofit, or just an individual interested in this important issue.
So, let's get started.
