Tips for successful mobbing

- [Instructor] Here are my tips for successful mob programming. As with pair programming, particularly when you're just getting started or when a member is new to your particular mob or new to mob programming in general, you want to establish rapport. What you want to do is talk with that person before you sit them down and expect them to start coding, ideally if you had some opportunity to go to lunch with them, go to breakfast with them, something outside of the workroom, so that they could get comfortable. Mobbing can be quite intimidating for people, depending on their level of comfort working in groups and their experience with it. So, you want to really let people who are going to potentially join your mob do what they need to do to feel comfortable. In some cases, I've actually found that people who are going to join a mob, if they just watch for a period of time and they have no requirement around participation, that can really help 'em.
