Telnet and SSH

- The whole reason the internet was invented was so that we could access far away computers as though we were right there with them. So one of the oldest applications that comes within TCP/IP is something called Telnet Telnet is basically a remote terminal emulator that lets you get to somebody else's command line. Now Telnet is pretty pretty old, and he's a little bit un-secure so we use something else called SSH these days, because it's a little bit more secure. And in this episode we're gonna hit both of these. So let's start with the oldie goldie good 'ol Telnet. - [Voiceover] Now Telnet actually comes with windows, it comes with pretty much every operating system, you can get Telnet clients but for right now I just want to use the built in Telnet client that comes with windows. So, to run this all we do is we type in Telnet and now it brings up a prompt, So now we have to say, who do we want to connect too? I just happen to have a computer configured as a Telnet server far away…
