A sense of security, whether false or real, is only temporary. Threats always adapt, and so should the security approach. Observe, orient, decide, and act (OODA) is another military strategy and a healthy way to constantly reevaluate. This is especially true at the user level where, in any given day, multiple attacks of different varieties can be observed.
- [Instructor] So, let's take a look…at security versus travel security.…A sense of security, whether false or real,…is only temporary.…Threats always adapt and so should the security approach.…Observe, orient, decide, and act,…OODA, is a military strategy.…It is a healthy way to constantly reevaluate.…This is especially true at the user level…where, in any one day, multiple attacks…of different varieties can be observed.…Complacency is what destroys security.…
Other things like budget cuts…and incompetence don't help either.…When it comes to travel, security really doesn't change.…I suppose the difference…is you will be entering an environment…that you have less control over.…Security can be measured in many ways,…but privacy, access, and flexibility are pretty important.…How do you measure it?…Does your organization value it the same?…Funny thing is, your privacy may be less important to them.…Layers of protection or defense in depth…is how you successfully prevent most attacks…from being successful.…
This is another military concept.…
