Join Mike Chapple for an in-depth discussion in this video The SSCP exam, part of SSCP Cert Prep: The Basics.
- The SSCP exam is a multiple-choice, computer-based test that you will take at a Pearson VUE testing center. It's available in English, Japanese, and Brazilian Portuguese. When test day arrives, you'll have a total of three hours to take the exam. It contains 125 questions that cover seven domains of information security. These include access controls, security operations and administration, risk identification, monitoring, and analysis, incident response and recovery, cryptography, network and communications security, and systems and application security.
The questions on the exam come in two formats. The vast majority of the questions are multiple-choice questions, providing you with a question followed by four possible answer choices, one of which is correct. Your exam will also include scenario-based questions, where you're asked to read a short scenario and then answer one or more multiple-choice questions based upon that scenario. I'll cover those more later in this course. To pass the exam, you'll need to achieve a score of at least 700 out of 1,000 possible points.
