- Hi, I'm Mike Chapple, and I'd like to welcome you to our course on preparing for the SSCP exam. The system security certified practitioner credential is a popular entry-level certification for cybersecurity professionals. The international information system security certification consortium sponsors the SSEP credential. Now that name is a mouthful. So most people simply refer to them by their acronym, ISC squared. This course serves as the introduction to a series of seven additional courses. Each one focused on one of the seven domains of the SSCP exam. As you work your way through each of these courses, you'll pick up all of the knowledge that you need to earn your SSCP certification. I've been an information security professional for over 20 years in the government, private industry, and higher education. I hold many security certifications and have been active as a security certification expert for many years. In this course I'll provide you with the background knowledge you need to begin your preparations for the SSCP exam. We'll cover the value of the SSCP certification, describe the seven domains of the SSCP curriculum, give you an insider's view of the exam and help you design your own study strategy. All right, let's get rolling.
