Join David Bombal for an in-depth discussion in this video Mininet tree topology, part of Practical Software-Defined Networking: 3 Learning Mininet.
- [Instructor] Okay so let's try a tree topology…rather than linear.…So I'll try tree of a depth of two and a fanout of three.…Ping all.…Click reload.…Now what we've done here is we've created…a core switch and we've said that the fanout is three.…So three switches are connected to the core switch.…And we said a depth of two, so one two is the depth.…
Each leaf switch will have the number of hosts connected…as you specify in the fanout command.…So in this example each switch has three hosts connected…because we specified a fanout of three.…So core switch doesn't have any hosts connected to it.…The leaf switches have hosts connected to them.…Exit out of there, let's make the depth three…and the fanout three.…
Ping all.…Need to discover where the devices are…so while it's doing that, notice here we have a core switch,…switch one, we specified a fanout of three,…so three switches are connected to that core switch.…But because we specified a depth of one two three,…notice the second switch also has three switches…connected to it.…
