- In today's cloud and data center environments, it's no longer possible to get by knowing only servers, networking, or storage. You really need to know all three for your career to thrive. I originally came from a systems and network engineer background, and when I first wanted to learn about storage there was a problem in that all the training was either too basic, for people who'd basically never turned on a computer before, or it was too advanced.
It was for people who were already experienced storage engineers. There really wasn't anything out there for people who were coming from an IT background but were new to storage. That's where this introduction to SAN and NAS storage comes in. You'll learn theory of how SMB SFS, NFS, Fibre Channel, iSCSI, FCUE, and NVMEOF all work. And I won't just teach you the theory, I'll show you how to configure them in the lab as well.
You'll see how to do that both on the storage system and how to connect in from clients. My experience is I'm a NetApp instructor. I've been doing that for over 10 years and I've also worked in the field for over 20 years as well. So hopefully you're ready to plug that gap in your knowledge and learn about SAN and NAS storage. If so, let's get started.
