- The computer world is filled…with a lot of older types of connectors…that even though they're not common anymore,…you still see them from time to time,…and that's what this episode is all about.…So what I wanna do is first talk about…an older type of connected called firewire.…Now I've got plenty of firewire right here.…The important thing to remember about firewire…is that it came around in the early 2000s.…You'll still see support on it,…particularly with Sony products.…We see it with a lot of video cameras and things like that.…
Although a lot of people have moved on to higher speed USB…and other type of connections.…So, what's important for you is to make sure…that you can recognize firewire, some of the speeds,…and cable distances.…Number one, firewire acts a lot like USB.…You plug something in,…there's some connector on the back of your computer,…on your laptop, and the device pretty much just…automatically work.…So, at least in terms of how you use firewire,…think in terms of USB, and this will be pretty easy.…

Instructor Mike Meyers discusses how to work with auxiliary devices, including media and accessories. He shows how to configure device behavior and manage the ports that support the peripheral devices.
