- [Instructor] So building on our prior example of consolidation, here is an idea of how you would actually take on an existing DAZ implementation and create the consolidation that we've mentioned. In many DAZ applications you encounter server sprawl. This means servers of various vintage and various types and various backups are created ad hoc, without any types of consistency. This is an opportunity for improvement. One of the things that server sprawl creates is an ongoing manual task of daily and weekly backup and recovery. This is often tape, it's often manual, it's often non-standardized. Human error is frequently a quality problem where a tape didn't run or the tape got over written or the backup itself never happened. And aging data is frequently a problem that can be addressed by consolidation. Additionally, monthly and yearly operations can be addressed by consolidation.
