- [Instructor] All right, let's talk about backup redundancy and administration considerations, all within our IT operations section. So first of all, let's talk about different types of backup, at least the ones you should know for the CISA exam. A full backup is just as its name implies, it backs up everything and it resets what's called the archive bit. Any time a file is changed or modified, the archive bit is reset so that backup tool knows, oh, that file's been changed, I know the back of it. Well, whenever someone does a full backup, it backs up everything, and it resets the archive bit so, the tool knows, well, everything has been backed up. It's one of the fastest ways to restore stuff, 'cause if you have one backup tape or backup drive, or backup image that has everything on it, you can just do one restore and you're done.
