- [Instructor] Creating a contact manually is a great option for those individual contacts that come your way, say, on a business card, for example. But what if you already have a list of contacts, say, in an Excel spreadsheet or in a text file? Or maybe you use another CRM tool and you're switching over to HubSpot. In that case, you might want to consider importing your contacts, and that's what we're going to do in this movie. We're still looking at our contacts screen. That's from the Contacts dropdown and selecting Contacts. We see the one that we created manually. We don't see the ones we deleted permanently; they're gone. But now it's time to import. Just before we go up here to the Import button in the top right-hand corner, I want to show you the file that I'm going to be using. You can be using your own Excel spreadsheet; can be in the new format with the extension XLSX, or the older XLS file even. But you can see I have a simple spreadsheet with some columns.
