Join Scott Pagano for an in-depth discussion in this video Simulation caching and wire deforming, part of Houdini: Advanced Motion Graphics.
- [Voiceover] Now that we have our dynamic…simulation set up, we want to cache the whole thing out…so that we can work with the geometry…and figure out other things downstream…without having to worry about the simulation anymore,…and have that be done.…So I'll go into my CORE_01 node…and this is where the Shelf Tool for the wires…put in this compute_velocity and this dopimport node.…You can see this is where our wires…are coming back in, awesome.…I just want to write that as a geometry sequence to disk…and not have to worry about the simulation anymore.…So first off, we want to middle mouse click on dopimport.…
You can see that we've got a bunch of these groups.…We have all these Point Attributes of the Dop Network adds…and all sorts of Attributes we had before.…Quite frankly, I don't need any of that stuff…anymore for these.…Sometimes you do need those things for various purposes,…but I like to keep my Attribute streams really clean.…You don't want to have all this stuff down the line…that you're not worried about anymore.…
