How to modify geometry

- There are two main ways of manipulating geometry in Houdini. On one hand, we have more manual vertex techniques, and on the other hand, we have networks of nodes that allow us to manipulate geometry procedurally. So the first thing we're gonna do is just take a look at Houdini's tools for manual geometry manipulation. So let me take a grid. I'm gonna grab a grid from the shelf here, and I'm just gonna drop this in the middle of the scene. And now I'm gonna close some of these panes again, just to give us a little bit more surface area to deal with. So now, I want to manipulate some of the points on this grid, just raise 'em up in the air, just so we can see. First off, we can see right now, it's kinda hard to see any of the grid divisions or points or anything. So we're gonna go to our Display menu and turn this to Flat Wire Shaded. So then that'll actually show us the polygons of our grid. And then I'm gonna click on this dot right here, which turns on Point Display. There's all…
